Chrome Extension Privacy

Realomate Lead Finder Chrome Extension

Data Collection

The Realomate Lead Finder Chrome Extension collects and processes the following information locally in your browser:

  • Website Content: Post content, comments, and author names from supported platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reddit, Twitter/X, Nextdoor, YouTube, Zillow, Redfin, Realtor.com, Trulia). This data is analyzed locally to identify potential real estate leads. Only posts matching your configured keywords are stored.
  • Configuration Settings: Custom keywords, target locations, platform preferences, API connection details, and display preferences.
  • Usage Statistics: Number of posts scanned, leads found/imported, platform breakdown, top keywords, and activity timestamps.
  • Lead Data: Author names, profile URLs, post content/URLs, lead scores, matched keywords, and extraction timestamps.

What We Don't Collect

  • Browsing history outside supported platforms
  • Personal messages or private communications
  • Passwords or authentication credentials
  • GPS or device location data
  • Information from users without the extension installed

How We Use Extension Data

Local Processing: All lead detection and scoring happens locally in your browser. No data is sent to our servers unless you explicitly import a lead or enable auto-import.

Data Transmission: Data is only transmitted to your configured Realomate application when you manually import a lead, enable auto-import for high-scoring leads (40+), or when extension sync occurs (every 30 minutes if API is configured).

Data Storage

The extension uses Chrome's built-in storage APIs to store settings (synced across your Chrome browsers) and recent leads (up to 50, stored locally on each device). Lead data you import is stored in your self-hosted or cloud-hosted Realomate application.

CSV Export Feature

The extension includes a CSV export feature that allows you to download lead data directly to your computer. This feature works completely offline and does not require a Realomate account or API connection. Exported data is saved only to your local device.

Your Extension Rights

  • View Data: Open the extension popup to see recent leads and statistics
  • Delete Data: Click "Reset Stats" in extension options to clear all local data
  • Disable Collection: Turn off the extension or disable specific platforms
  • Export Data: Use the CSV export feature or export from your Realomate application
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling removes all local data from your browser automatically

Security

API keys are stored securely using Chrome's storage API. All API communications use HTTPS encryption. No sensitive data is logged or transmitted to analytics services.

Use of Google User Data

The Realomate Chrome Extension uses Google Chrome's built-in APIs but does not collect or transmit Google user data (such as your Google account information, Gmail, Google Drive files, or other Google services data) to our servers. Specifically:

  • Chrome Identity API: Used for optional authentication to connect your extension to your Realomate account. No Google account information is stored or transmitted beyond what's necessary for authentication.
  • Chrome Storage API: Used to save your extension settings (keywords, preferences) locally in your browser. This data is stored on your device and synced across your Chrome browsers if you're signed into Chrome, but is not sent to Realomate servers.
  • Chrome Alarms API: Used to schedule periodic lead detection scans. No data is collected through this API.
  • No Google Services Access: The extension does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Photos, or any other Google services or user data.

Data Handling Commitment: Any data collected by the extension (lead information from third-party social media and real estate websites) is:

  • Used solely for the extension's stated purpose of identifying real estate leads
  • Not sold to third parties
  • Only transmitted to your configured Realomate application when you explicitly import leads
  • Fully controlled by you—you can view, export, or delete all data at any time

Third-Party Platforms

The extension operates on third-party platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). Your use of these platforms is governed by their respective privacy policies. The extension only reads publicly visible content on these platforms.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Realomate may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Realomate's sole discretion. Realomate encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
